March 10! My wedding anniversary. I was engaged for exactly 10 weeks. In that short time I engraved in all my friends minds my wedding date March10!
Wherever I went, whenever I met someone, I’d say ‘March10’. My signature on my text messages was ~March10!~. Back then, Upoc was a new group messaging service. My Upoc handle was… you guessed it, ‘March10!’.
My new name was “March10”. That’s how people started calling me.
Seven great years later, every year on March10 I get ’Happy Anniversary’ text messages from people who I never speak to year round.
Back then I had no idea what I was doing, I was simply ecstatic about my wedding and wanted everyone to participate. Now I understand the power of building a brand.
What is a brand?
A brand is when you think of something, and right away your mind associates it with a certain company, product or service. 2 great examples are Coke and Google. When you think of a soda, you think Coke. When you think of searching something online, you think Googling…
Now when people wake up and the calendar is pointing to March 10, they think Izzy Green’s wedding.
If only I can cash out on that….. 😉
